 The Science of Selling Real Estate The Making of a Capitola REALTOR® While earning my Chemistry Degree from UCSC I learned a number of things about myself; most important being that isolation in a laboratory was not a fit. At 22, I considered several options including Med & Law School, ultimately turning down a handful of top tier law schools to pursue a career in sales. Later, when asked why I made that decision, my canned answer has been “because practicing law isn’t Law & Order.”  My first job out of college was leasing vehicles to mid-sized corporations in Silicon Valley. Although the job paid well and had room for professional growth, I needed more flexibility and job satisfaction than affecting my clients’ “bottom line”. When I began working as a REALTOR in 2004 I knew I had found the right career; earning my Broker’s License in 2010. My background in science differentiates me from other REALTORS. Working towards my Degree gave me a strong foundation in creative problem solving, an ability to understand numbers, an intuition regarding market trends and strong organizational skills. Over the last 8 years I’ve found fulfillment in the science of selling real estate. I am well versed in representing buyer and seller in high-end, bank owned and short sale properties. For sellers, I implement a proactive 17-point marketing plan to create maximum exposure for their home. For buyers, I strategize the negotiation between seller and buyer to minimize the amount my clients pay for any particular property. My science background taught me not to be attached to a particular outcome, only the best solution, and this allows me to bring sincerity & respect to my work. Helping people buy and sell Santa Cruz Real Estate is a privilege. I recognize how special this community is, and why people live and own property here. When I started out in real estate, I was most passionate about turning over a new set of keys to my buyer or delivering a check to my seller. Over the years, I have grown to appreciate the intimate involvement I have as a REALTOR in the most important financial decision my clients will make.
